On the article Millburn Fire Inspector, Wife Indicted On Theft, Forgery Charges

ReplyUnless these crimes occurred in his capacity as Fire Inspector for the township, the appropriate headline should read "Nutley Man, Wife Indicted On Theft, Forgery Charges," and the article itself published on Nutley patch.

Not driving after drinking at a family function is a "hardship"? The context where drinking occurred is not relevant -- if you drink, do not drive. First offense for DWI should be mandatory jail time.

The shoplifter description was fine, the article was about more than Gucci products, and the snark was completely unwarranted.

ReplyI like this shop so far! They do need to also stock more "normal" things (such as 20 ounce bottles of iced tea and soda, Tropicana orange juice NOT from concentrate, etc). Not only for the adults, but soon it will be summer and kids will park their bikes outside and stop in for a drink, only to find little bottles of gourmet juice.
Also, watch pricing on some items.
Do they make hot pressed paninis? The Millburn Deli uses the panini press as a money printing machine!
Best of luck EVO!

Of course, aside from the intent to rob the place, the act of looking in the window is illegal in most places under the "Peeping Tom" laws. For New Jersey:
N.J.S.A. 2C:18-3(c)
"A person commits a crime of the fourth degree if, knowing that he is not licensed or privileged to do so, he peers into a window or other opening of a dwelling or other structure adapted for overnight accommodation for the purpose of invading the privacy of another person and under circumstances in which a reasonable person in the dwelling or other structure would not expect to be observed."

Thanks David, very helpful info. It's disappointing the township is not more proactive in maintaining these trouble spots, and also that residents are selfish enough to continue dumping garbage (coffee cups, water bottles, etc) onto our lovely town.

ReplyDavid, what are town policies with trash (bottles, cans, papers, etc) pickup in our parks, train stations, and along roads?
Parks: I often see a town vehicle at Bauer Center (meaning there is a township employee there) while at the same time see dozens of empty bottles, cans, and garbage strewn along the pond banks at Taylor Park.
Train Stations: The two train stations are perpetually surrounded by garbage (shame on residents for dumping their coffee cups and debris into the parking lots and adjacent roads on their way to catch a train).
Roads: Hobart Ave, as just one example, is continually covered with trash along the train track side. Nice work from our residents again, dumping garbage along the road.
In general, township trash containers are frequently overflowing with garbage spilling out onto the sidewalks and grass. Obviously more trash cans are needed.

ReplyThis new paddle boat facility will be a wonderful addition to the area. The improvements to our area in the form of an ever-improving Turtle Back Zoo, Safari Mini Golf, McLoone's Boathouse, etc, are great resources to people who enjoy and use them.
To those not already utilizing these wonderful assets to our community, you're missing out.

NJ.com has many photos posted. Is it just me, or do the vast majority of dresses worn seem better suited for a 25-year-old at a nightclub?
