Judy Jansen is a rising senior at Millburn High School, with a passion for writing and literature. An honors student and steadfast studier, Judy tries to balance her time with extracurriculars that suit her interests.

Since freshman year, Judy has been an enthusiastic participant in the school's newspaper, The Miller. Formerly the Arts and Culture editor and now an editor-in-chief, Judy dedicates many of her afternoons to editing articles and brainstorming new ideas.

Judy is also the co-managing editor of Cellar Door, a literary journal at Millburn High. The journal brings together impressive nonfiction writings completed by students throughout the year, paired along outstanding artwork created by the school's art department. She plans to continue contributing personal work as well as helping in the editing process this coming year.

As an active student who needs to relieve excess energy, Judy has spent the last three years playing on the Girl's Field Hockey team. Previously Junior Varsity captain and now a Varsity captain, Judy plans to have an exciting and spirited fall semester.

Judy is also a proud member of the MHS band, where she plays mallet percussion at the football games and school concerts. She is also an accelerated band member, and plays the piano in two school recitals per year. Judy has been playing piano for twelve years now, with a yearly concert outside of school and participation in the United States' National Piano Guild.

Judy also enjoys spending her time as an editor of the high school yearbook and a rising five-year member of the Millburn Peer Leadership Program. She is also one of four members to start the high school club Down the Block, which is based on the hyper-local nonprofit organization that provides for township families in need.
