ReplyWhat spaces are being air conditioned? the classrooms? I vaguely remember the last bond referendum adding some air conditioning to the cafeterias and gyms but my kids are out of elementary now so not up on details. Why aren't Glenwood and Hartshorn also being air conditioned?

ReplyDid the Democrats put up candidates for the election this year? If one party is left to run unopposed they assume everyone is happy with their leadership.

ReplySeems curious to not also designate Stony Lane and Inwood which are an integral part of the area otherwise designated? Also why not include the upper part of Woodland Rd,n Ridge Terrace, Ferncliff and Pine Terrace W and Baltusrol? How did Township Comm zero in on this particular few roads?

ReplyHow about the Democrats? Will they run candidates this year? Or are they going to give the Republicans an "easy walk on again"?

ReplyDoes any of this matter? A majority of BOE will vote to approve budget, as is, on Sunday. They have sent the community a clear message this year: they do not need to explain or justify their budget or educational decisions anymore because the community doesn't vote on the budget anymore. Note Dr. Crisfield's letter does not even address the most important questions which are about the education our students receive: world language program, eliminating computer rooms, eliminating 8th grade team. Is it really "bullying" to want answers to those questions? The BOE/admin think "just patting the community on the head and saying it will be fine, we know better" is the best course of action. Why vent about something you can't do anything about. Of course you can vote out BOE members but candidates say one thing to get elected and then do whatever they want once elected. Unless there is some way to get the budget vote back get use to it.

ReplyDr Crisfield, Also are you still planning to eliminate the computer labs? If yes, can you please explain how this will work and what that move accomplishes? Is it that you want to turn each computer room into a regular classroom to alleviate class sizes?

Congrats to all 6! and extra congrats to Saachi and Brannon on being semifinalists. Usually one qualifies for Presidential scholar with a perfect SAT score; 5 perfect SAT scores in one school's class is quite remarkable. (and guess I'm just assuming the Arts Scholar did not also get a perfect SAT score but who knows guess that was possible too)
