ReplyIt's good location, with plenty of traffic and access off the highways. Started life as a Burger Chef (I worked there one horrible summer), how about a new burger joint? Upscale burgers are the rage, or dare I say it, a White Castle?

ReplyI've been a huge fan of Jeffreys since his "Ghostwriter" album debuted in the 1970s and saw him last year in Chatham. Powerful songs delivered with the sensitivity and heart of a pioneering urban poet. Though many of his songs are from the perspective of an "angry young man," this classic rocker happily chatted informally with his fans in Chatham even as he was busy setting up and doing a sound check. Should be a great show. You don't need to know his songs to enjoy them. They will move you, make you laugh at times and stick with you long after you leave. A rare chance to see a true legend play in Parsippany. What a treat. And a nice story by Natalie.

ReplyI agree there was a lot to like about this show. But when they charge up to $96 a ticket, it's important for a reviewer to not get caught up in the moment and sign off on a show as a must-see. Especially since we are typically invited to attend a "press opening" in an audience stacked with friends, family and in this case a small army of Disney associates. Glad you had a good time and I'll add this much: I heard someone humming one of the tunes accurately on the way out, which is rare for a world premiere. Of course, it might have been the composer's piano tuner.

You are right and have uncovered an interesting development. I double checked and confirmed the published price range of $26-$96. Some theaters however are increasing their use of something called flex pricing (same goes for Broadway, a practice that gained popularity during the period of overwhelming demand for "The Producers") where they will increase prices for good seats to popular show and, in turn, offer steep discounts when sales are slow. My suggestion is to consider additional dates. A later Saturday, Oct. 27, lists top prices at $110 for example, and that could drop (or rise) several times depending the volume of advance sales. FYI Saturday night of course is always the top-price ticket for any show.
