Woman Assaulted in Home Invasion, Police Say

Cypress Street resident was hospitalized after man forced his way into her home.

A Millburn woman was injured during a home invasion Friday morning on Cypress Street, police said. 

According to Detective Collin McMillan, the man forced his way into the home, assaulting the woman just before 10:30 a.m.

The man stole an unknown amount of jewelry, McMillan said.

The resident described the burglar as a 5-foot-11 black man, about 220 pounds with a salt-and-pepper beard.

According to McMillan, the homeowner was taken to the hosipital for injuries to her face and leg. The severity of her injuries was not immediately known.

Millburn police have released an image from a survalliance camera of the alleged burglar.
