My Son's Friend Took My Jeep, Millburn Man Tells Cops

Alan Vetushchi, 23, took vehicle Monday morning to go to CVS and never returned it, Millburn police say.

A 23-year-old Millburn man is suspected of stealing a car from an Oakdale Avenue residence Monday morning, Millburn police said.

According to Capt. Michael Palardy, the resident came home from work at about 12:30 p.m. Monday and noticed his 2001 Jeep was missing.

The resident's son told him his friend, Alan Vetushchi, had stayed over Sunday night and may have taken the Jeep, Palardy said.

The father told police the keys to the Jeep were missing from the Oakdale home. 

According to the report, the father called Vetushchi at about 1 p.m. and Vetushchi told him he was at the CVS in Millburn. He told Vetushchi to return the vehicle immediately.

The father told police he waited until about 6 p.m. on Monday evening to report  the missing car in case Vetushchi returned it.
